Kevin Thorley joined Silversmith Capital Partners in 2026 as Operating Partner, AI Engineering. At Silversmith, Kevin collaborates closely with entrepreneurs and leaders across the firm's portfolio on how to put AI to work and how to evolve their software architecture to support growth.
Kevin brings 25 years of experience building software, with roles spanning engineering, architecture, and product and engineering leadership. Most recently, he spent three years as a Product and Engineering Leader for Cox Automotive's EV Battery Solutions group. That role capped a 17-year career at Cox Automotive, which included eight years on the enterprise architecture team, five of them as AVP, Architecture for one of the company's primary portfolios. Kevin began his career in 2001 as a software engineer, building the hands-on foundation that has shaped his approach to architecture and leadership ever since.
Kevin lives in Vermont with his wife and two kids. He spends as much time as he can skiing, biking, paddling, and generally finding adventure in the mountains, and he also loves reading and playing guitar.
